UK Based – Remote working
This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapid growth company that will significantly change the way pharmaceutical companies collect and analyse field insights.
ADVANCE®AI is an exciting new technology-based SaaS company in the pharmaceutical service sector. The core service has been developed in collaboration with IBM, the original innovators in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and still one of the world’s leaders in continually developing this technology. ADVANCE®AI provides pharma leaders everyday visibility of the quality of the conversations taking place between their field-based teams and Health Care Professionals (HCPs). This everyday visibility is provided on KPI dashboards that are updated daily in real-time. Data is collected using AI, rather than humans, to observe and record the conversations, which is converted into data that provides invaluable insights on campaign execution, selling skills deployment and evolution in call outcome.
The Global Medical Affairs Director – Client Strategy AI is responsible for partnering with Global Business Development on clients with planned medical accounts for ADVANCE®AI, becoming a trusted partner to those clients, and coordinating consistent delivery of centrally driven programmes, through the Customer Success team, across all geographies for those clients.
The role combines business development (30%) with accelerating account initiation and ensuring successful field execution (70%).
This is not a traditional pharma Medical Affairs Director role. Working alongside the CMO, who sets ADVANCE®AI’s overall medical affairs strategy, the role holder is client- and product-facing, and brings three mindsets to everything they do:
• Business growth: increasing the value of customer accounts on the medical side by using pharma medical advisers who truly understand the customer’s problem.
• Customer support: solving medically focused customer issues alongside the Customer Success team, so that customers are successful and renew.
• Solution focus: combining pharma medical adviser knowledge with customer feedback to make the ADVANCE®AI technology solution better.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support business development: raise ADVANCE®AI's profile to win new clients, then help the Customer Success team to drive organic growth within those clients.
• Articulate both the unique advantages of ADVANCE®AI and its added value and alignment with Medical Affairs, recognising that the Medical Affairs operating model is more scientifically focused and that engagement involves more complex, wide-ranging discussions (e.g. off-label and pipeline topics).
• Partner with BD on operational delivery: tailor the programme scope to client needs and ensure consistent delivery, holding formal quarterly reviews (and ad hoc reviews as required) with clients to help ensure they understand and act on the relevant data insights and their underlying root causes.
• Manage relationships with clients to ensure that they are satisfied with the services provided.
• Act as the medical point of escalation for the Customer Success team: diagnose and resolve medically focused customer issues quickly, protecting customer success and securing renewals.
• Champion the voice of the medical customer in product development: capture customer feedback and medical adviser insight and work with the product and technology teams to shape and improve the ADVANCE®AI solution.
• Closely collaborate with cross functional teams at the local (country) level as well as the above country level: that include country GMs, Regional Heads and local Customer Success Managers to ensure consistent, high-quality programme delivery for the clients, as well as insight generation and strategic plans.
What we are looking for:
• 5–7 years in Medical Affairs, including field-based experience (MSL / Medical Adviser) and a step up into field management
• A commercial outlook: you see medical credibility and business success going hand in hand
• Experience in specialty / mid-size pharma or biotech (relevant consultancy backgrounds welcome)
• The energy to thrive in an entrepreneurial, high-accountability environment
